About Hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool to help you discover more about yourself.
With hypnosis combined with counselling and other techniques, you can truly change the way you think, feel and experience life for the better.

Hypnotherapy appointments can be done online from anywhere in the world. We help our patients with this modality every day to work through all kids of issues. In addition to working through the life issues outlined above, here are the main reasons you’d see a Shift hypnotherapist.

  • You are experiencing anxiety, nervousness or excessive worry
  • You are feeling down or low and don’t know why
  • You’re working through some issues in your relationships- be it at home or work, and need some support to navigate this
  • You‘re not happy in your life, but you don’t know how to change it
  • You’re doing all of the emotional work but you’re just not healing
  • You can’t sleep because your mind won’t shut off

At Shift, our therapist Rebecca Eather uses a combination of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and other techniques to help you to Shift your mind. Rebecca is the creator of our popular MindShift course and has helped thousands of clients to make their Shift.

How Hypnotherapy Works

When you think of hypnosis, you may imagine what you’ve seen on TV during stage hypnosis or in a movie. Clinical hypnosis is very different and it can’t make you do anything that you don’t want to do. When you’re in hypnosis, it is called being in a trance state.

Trance is like being in deep meditation. Your body will be relaxed and you’ll usually feel incredibly calm and relaxed. In this relaxed state you can now access your subconscious mind, those deeper parts of yourself that are sometimes not immediately apparent.

Over 90% of your mind is subconscious and this is where our most deep-seated beliefs and values are stored. By accessing this part of ourselves, we can make significant changes and help to release emotions and past traumas so that you can heal.

Techniques That We Use to Help With Healing

When you’re in hypnosis, Rebecca may use several techniques to help facilitate your healing process. Some of these may be:

Parts Therapy
Looking at the different parts of yourself. Which ones are more dominant? Which ones do we want to bring forward? For example there may be a part of you that wants to be healthy and work out, but the part of you that wants to stay on the couch is more dominant. We can work to bring forward the best parts of yourself in this type of therapy.

Past Life Regression
Past life regressions help us to access past trauma that can be impacting us in this lifetime. By going back, we can see that incidents that have happened in previous lifetimes can be imprinted on us, causing us to relive the same emotional turmoil in this lifetime. If you’re new to this or it seems a bit far out, we recommend reading the book Many Masters, many Live by psychiatrist Brian Weiss.

Emotional Detox
This is where we identify emotions that you are holding on to and take you through a process to release them using guided visualisations under hypnosis.

Time Line Therapy
This is going back to points in the timeline of your life where you may have experienced issues that are causing you issues today. We can then facilitate the release of stored emotions or help you to make the realisations that you need to truly heal.

You Are Unique and So is Your Emotional Healing Journey

Coaching you through the process is also something that is hugely important, and in some sessions this may be the primary focus before hypnotherapy can occur. Rebecca uses many different modalities and tools in order to give you an individualised session, which is what makes it so impactful.

A Fluid and Changing Treatment.

As you go through your membership with us at Shift, your health will change. The degree of this depends on a number of factors, but as your health shifts, so does your treatment.

At each of your 1-1 online naturopathic appointments, our naturopaths will ask you a series of questions. They are looking for what has changed, what has not and for anything new. Based on this information and any new test results that have been reviewed, your naturopath will adjust your treatment plan to suit your current state, which helps to keep you moving forward.

It is this fluidity in treatment that makes our online naturopathic memberships so effective, as we are working with your body and what it needs at the moment, rather than making assumptions that things will remain the same.

Experience and Collaboration to Help You Arrive.

At Shift, we work under an outcome-based model, which means that we’re always assessing to make sure we are getting closer to the end result. Our 5 naturopaths have over 50 years of combined experience. We call this our ‘brains trust’, and they utilise each others knowledge and expertise to ensure that we are giving our patients the very best level of care.

Our virtual naturopaths have guided thousands of people through their wellness journeys. We recognise that everyone is an individual and healing takes your time, resources and willpower to succeed. We want to make the journey as easy as possible so that you can arrive where you need to be.
